EARLY AUGUST THOUGHTS

One wonders where time goes. August! My first post since April! Yet, I think I like the letter ‘A’!

Two forthcoming titles are due out in Autumn.

In an advance review of JUMPING OFF LIBRARY SHELVES (Wordsong/Boyds Mills Press), illustrated byJane Manning, KIRKUS called the book “…an endearing Accolade’ ending with “Amen”.

For AMAZING PLACES (Lee & Low), illustrated by Chris Soentpiet and Christy Hale, KIRKUS starred the book stating “Amazing indeed”.

I am amazed. Amen.

Renee M. LaTulippe and I completed several more tapes in the NCTE “NCTE Poet Spotlight Series”www.nowaterriver.com featuring the lives and works of Barbara Juster Esbensen, Eloise Greenfeld and X. J. Kennedy.

I am forever grateful to Renee for initiating this long, loving project – an important part of the history of poetry for children in the USA.

So grateful I dedicate AMAZING PLACES to her:

To Renee M. LaTulippe–

who has taken me/to amazing places/of poetry.

She has.

Amen.

Onto tomorrows…
